Four seasons on the Greenway

In this Ginko haiku poetry walk series, we will be exploring the local environment, in and around Metuchen, NJ, and the Middlesex Greenway that runs through it.

You will learn about the simple yet profound form of Haiku poetry and how you can utilize this practice to help develop an intimate creative relationship with the natural and urban environments around you.

Inspired by Kigo or “seasonal word”(an essential component of haiku), haiku asks its writers and readers to notice the distinctions and nuances of our everyday life. These are found in the world around us, which transforms through the transience of time and the natural cycle of the seasons.

We have organized four walks, one in each season
